FT. WORTH TX – Phil Sorrells, retired Tarrant County Criminal Court Judge launched his campaign for Criminal District Attorney. The incumbent, Sharen Wilson has recently announced that she will not seek reelection in 2022.
“Today, after nearly 25 years on the bench, I resigned my position as Judge and am announcing my campaign for Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney. It was not a decision I took lightly or came to easily. Prayerful discernment and an outpouring of support from folks across the County led to this decision.
“The people of Tarrant County deserve a District Attorney who has the background, qualifications, and experience to faithfully execute the duties and responsibilities of the office. We need a leader who that the professional prosecutor in the office will follow. We need a leader who serving as the chief law enforcement officer in the county can inspire those who are sworn to serve and protect are held to the highest standards and backed and supported when they do their best.
We need a leader who can ensure the public that justice is done in every case, every day, regardless the cost. I believe I am that leader.
“As I approach the campaign, I see it as a great opportunity to meet with voters and share my vision for the office. I want to set the tone for what kind of District Attorney I will be and the openness and candor that will be my trademark.
“I appreciate the work done by Sharen Wilson. Through two -terms in office she has served honorably, and I thank her for her service.”
